Turn to Face the Change
Was performed at the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe Festival at C electric. Monday 15 to Friday 19 August

Rick is a radio presenter whose chat show includes a man sexually
intimidated by a cat. His style changes dramatically when he meets Lisa, an
erotic fiction writer, on a blind date. The romantic comedy also has a
generational edge involving Rick's father and Lisa's mother Dorothy. This is
generally a light hearted, watchable show, but it can be a bit trite and is
sometimes left hanging in the air. The dialogue may seem stilted but the
daughter-mother-flatmate relationship was particularly funny, and there were
some decent performances. The show also has a lush setting in the caverns of
C electric - just don't expect anything too deep or unpredictable.

Rick is a late-night radio talk show host with a mysterious history. He shares a flat with his womanising best friend, Archie. Lisa is a successful writer whose continuing search for love is severely hindered by her mother, Dorothy, a woman with a PhD in emotional blackmail. Through a series of bizarre coincidences, the very different lives of Rick, Lisa, Archie and Dorothy collide, and in one very peculiar night, their lives are changed forever. All four characters are forced to face up to the reasons why they live the way they do, how different things could be, and whether or not change is necessarily a good thing.

Director appointed
After much deliberating and many long chats Simon Bennett has been appointed to fill the role of director of this production. It was a hard decision to make as both candidates are equally qualified to direct. At the end of the day it was felt by James Castro (Assistant to the producer) and I, that in this case Simon's style of directing suited this production more. Naomi Marsh (matriarchal figure head of Act2) will still be involved in the direction of the show, but will also be assisting Mr Castro and myself in production elements.
Auditions for cast will be held shortly - I will post dates as soon as they are confirmed.
